ARTALEJO - LACAS RESIDENCE
Design of Addition/Renovation, 2007
This 'Zen craftsman' is a second story addition and first floor renovation of a 1940's home, emphasizing abundant natural light, indoor/outdoor living, and a fusion of traditional Japanese and bungalow details. The double height dining room features a glass wall that folds out of view to connect the first floor with the private, hillside garden. A new second story adds ample space for a growing family while maintaining a low profile roofline in a neighborhood of modest sized homes.
