BEACH DRIVE RESIDENCE Design, 2008 The Beach Drive Residence is a major addition and remodel to an existing home located in West Seattle. The original 1930's house, while sited within a stone's throw of the Puget Sound, did not take advantage of its spectacular site. While working within the shoreline regulations, reconstructed an introverted cottage into a modern home with a an open plan and strong connection to its site. Subtly curved roofs maintain privacy from the street above, blend the massing of the lower existing volume with the new 2nd floor bedrooms, and open the house to views of Puget Sound, Vashon Island, and Olympic Peninsula. |
