Seward Park modern house

VIEWS — LAKEFRONT — PACIFIC NORTHWEST ARCHITECTURE — SEATTLE HOMES

SEATTLE, WASHINGTON

This full home renovation is composed of a series of shed roof volumes offset so each major space has full-height glass to frame stunning views across Lake Washington to Mt. Rainier. The home’s thoughtful window placement not only frames views and creates privacy but also generates a transparency from the front of the house to the lake.

Throughout the interior of the home, a dramatic high-contrast palette of white, black, and red, with an exposed steel structure, creates a geometric effect and light industrial quality, a nod to the homeowner’s roots. Large pocket doors open to a covered patio to promote outdoor living on the lake. On the exterior, light and dark greys were selected to emulate the color of clouds.
