Refugee Women’s Alliance (ReWA)
EARLY LEARNING design — gathering space — COMMUNITY
seattle, washington
ReWA is a non-profit organization that provides refugee and immigrant women and their families with culturally and linguistically appropriate services. Founded in 1985 by a group of successfully resettled refugee women, ReWA provides wrap-around services to more than 11,000 clients from over 70 different countries of origin. This 6,500 SF addition combines a large community Gathering Hall, an Early Learning Center for 40 children, office space, and extensive site redevelopment. This new space reflects ReWA’s core mission: to be a sanctuary for people who have traveled a long and difficult path.

“Forrest and his team at CAST Architecture was a true partner in every phase of ReWA’s ELC project. The project has had its share of challenges but they were able to guide us with strategic alternatives that were cost effective and consistent with ReWA’s vision.”
